Alan
R. Coon is a principal with Geiger, Coon
& Keen responsible for the firm’s Public Agency, Environmental
and Litigation Departments. Mr. Coon has been practicing law for over
22 years with significant experience in the areas of civil practice
and litigation; public entity and eminent domain; environmental
litigation; and mechanics lien and real estate litigation.
Mr. Coon is a
member of the American Bar Association, California State Bar
Association and the local San Joaquin County Bar. He has acted as a
Governor on the Board of Governors of the San Joaquin County Bar
Association’s Board of Governors (2003-2005); a Judicial Arbitrator
for San Joaquin County Courts (to present), a former San Joaquin
County Employment and Administrative Referee and a former volunteer
Small Claims Pro-Tem Judge. Mr. Coon graduated with the 1998-1999
Stockton Leadership Program.
In 1982, Mr.
Coon graduated from the University of Stanislaus, Turlock, California,
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Business having also
placed on the Honors and Dean's List. Mr. Coon earned his Juris Doctor
from the local Humphreys College, School of Law, Stockton, on June 1,
1985. Mr. Coon has also acted as an Adjunct Professor for Humphreys
College in the following courses: Partnerships and Corporations, and
Real Estate. His current Martindale-Hubbell Rating is BV.
On a personal
level, Mr. Coon enjoys his family, farming, basketball and golf. He is
a member of the following affiliations: Amador Grape Growers
Association and Amador Farmer’s Association.
